Preschool Beginner: Ages 3-4
Child is not comfortable putting their face in the water or is afraid of going in the water.
Skills learned:

Blow bubbles with mouth and nose

Full submerge face and head in water

Front and back float with support
-
Enter and exit the water independently

Push off the wall and paddle for five strokes independently
Preschool Advanced Beginner: Ages 3-4
Child is comfortable putting their face in the water and going with an instructor.
Skills learned:

Ten bobs completely submerging head
-
Front and back float five feet independently
-
Swim on front and back five yards
-
Retrieve submerged object without holding onto wall

Jump off side independently
Advanced Beginner 1:
Child can paddle five yards independently on front and back with face in water, blowing bubbles and popping up to breathe.
Skills learned:

Crawl stroke/freestyle for 15 yards
-
25 bobs and develop side breathing

Kick on board 25 yards

Back crawl/backstroke for 15 yards

Jump in deep water
Advanced Beginner 2:
Child knows crawl stroke/freestyle but needs endurance.
Skills learned:

Crawl stroke/freestyle for 25 yards with side breathing and no fins

Elementary backstroke for 15 yards

Introduce breaststroke kicks and arms, and body dolphins

Introduce deep water dives
Intermediate:
Crawl and backstroke/freestyle for five yards, no fins
Skills learned:

Breaststroke 25 yards

Tread water three minutes, deep water dive
